The first step to treatment is the hardest. Finding someone you trust with your inner most struggles is scary. My approach to therapy is warm and inviting. I believe in meeting clients where they are not where I think they should be. I ensure clients have knowledge of their mental health diagnosis and assist them in identifying the best treatment plan for them. I encourage clients to take the lead on what they would like to discuss in therapy and always remind clients that all of our feelings are usually connected to something clinical that we will discuss or work on. I love working with juniors-seniors in high school as they are navigating their next steps as well as college students who need a listening ear. I also love working with adult women as they navigate their own mental health concerns as well as problems in their relationship, work, family, friendships etc. I have recently developed an interest in the last year of working with prenatal, postnatal and perinatal women after the birth of my daughter years ago. I know how difficult this process is and empathize with how long it takes to feel "normal" again. I do have a history of leading IOP groups for substance use and am comfortable discussing treatment for a few different substance use disorders.
